# Balances and account types

The Account balance can combine or separate balances depending on your Hyperliquid account mode.

## Unified account

One unified balance is used for trading. **Perps / Spot** is disabled.

## Separate Perps and Spot

Perps and Spot balances are separate. The app can ask which source to use for a send or duel entry.

## Withdrawable balance

The amount available for an Entry Amount or transfer can be lower than total account value because funds committed to positions are not withdrawable.

## Duel Wallet

Kingmaker uses a dedicated non-custodial smart-contract vault for each participant. The app may label this as a **Duel Wallet**.

Real Kingmaker trading changes the value associated with this vault. It remains separate from the participant's main portfolio and from other players' vaults.

## Duel Sub-Account

Portfolio Duel can use an isolated Duel Sub-Account.

## Virtual balance

Funded Duel uses $1,000 virtual capital for trading. It is not withdrawable USDC.

The virtual balance is separate from real Entry Amounts safeguarded by a non-custodial smart contract.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.duels.trade/wallet-and-funding/balances-and-accounts.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
