# Set up your account

After signing in, open **Account** and complete the **Profile Hub** before joining your first duel.

## 1. Confirm your wallet

At the top of Account, check:

* Your username
* Connected wallet address
* USDC balance
* Network

Email and social sign-ins can use an embedded Privy wallet. Self-custody users trade and sign through the external wallet they connected.

## 2. Choose your username

Under **Identity**, enter a public username.

Usernames:

* Must be 3–20 characters
* Can contain letters, numbers, and underscores
* Must be available

The app checks availability and can suggest alternatives. Your username appears in duels, leaderboards, Social, Duel Chat, and public profiles.

## 3. Add a PFP

Select the camera button on your current profile image and choose an image.

* Image files only
* Maximum file size: 5 MB

The PFP appears in Duel Lobbies, live standings, results, leaderboards, Social, and public profiles.

## 4. Add a banner

Select **Add Banner** or **Replace Banner**.

* Image files only
* Maximum file size: 8 MB

The banner appears at the top of your profile. Select **Remove Banner** to return to the default.

## 5. Add social links

Profile Hub supports the public handles shown in the app:

* X
* Twitch
* YouTube
* Kick

Enter the username or handle only—not `@` or the full URL.

X has a separate verification flow through Privy. See [Verify X with Privy](/account-and-safety/verify-x-with-privy.md).

## 6. Save changes

Select **Save Changes**. PFP, banner, username, and unverified social-link edits remain pending until saved.

## 7. Protect the account

Open **Security Settings** to review sign-in methods and configure Privy MFA when available.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.duels.trade/account-and-safety/account-setup.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
